American Revolution Patriots (Card-Carlock)


  • Card, Joseph – Joseph Card came from the State of North Carolina. Joseph Card held the rank of Private, in the Continental Army. On the Twenty-ninth day of September, in 1784, his heirs received a bounty of six hundred and forth acres of land, from the State of North Carolina.
  • Carden, Cornelius – Cornelius Carden came from the State of Georgia. On the Fifteenth day of March, in 1784, he received a bounty of two hundred and fifty acres of land, from the State Georgia.
  • Cardiff, Miles – Miles Cardiff came from the State of Virginia. Miles Cardiff held the rank of Private, in the Continental Army. On the Twenty-third day of June, in 1785, he received a bounty of one hundred acres of land, from the State of Virginia.
  • Cardiff, Thomas – Thomas Cardiff came from the State of Maryland. Thomas Cardiff held the rank of Private, in the Continental Army. On an unknown date, he received a bounty of fifty acres of land, from the State of Maryland.
  • Cardinal, Nicholas – Nicholas Cardinal was born on the Twenty-fifth day of August, in 1723, in Montreal, in the Country of Canada. He died on the Twenty-fourth day of August, in 1789, in the Town of Vincennes, Knox County, in the State of Indiana. Nicholas Cardinal was buried at St Francis Xavier Cemetery, in the Town of Vincennes, Knox County, in the State of Indiana. He was Married to Marie Joseph Girard. They were married in 1761.

  • Care, Teunis – Teunis Care came from the State of New York. Teunis Care held the rank of Matross, in the Continental Army. A Matrass was a mate or helper to a Cannonier or the soldier, who fired the cannon. His duties were to care for the cannon, load the cannon and clean the cannon. When the army traveled, the Matrass would walk with the supply wagons and guard the wagons and the supplies, along the way. On the Ninth day of July, in 1790, he received a bounty of six hundred acres of land, from the State of New York.
  • Carew, John – John Carew came from the Sufferer’s section of the Town of East or New Haven, East or New Haven, in the State of Connecticut. On an unknown date, John Carew received a bounty of eight pounds and fourteen pence, in British money, from the State of Connecticut.
  • Carey, Andrew H. – Andrew H. Carey came from the State of North Carolina. Andrew H. Carey held the rank of Sergeant, in the Continental Army. On the Twenty-ninth day of June, in 1815, his heirs received a bounty of one thousand acres of land, from the State of North Carolina.
  • Carey, Arthur – Arthur Carey came from the State of Pennsylvania. Arthur Carey held the rank of Private, in the Continental Army. On the First day of November, in 1786, his Assignee, Adam Kerr received a bounty of two hundred acres of land, from the State of Pennsylvania. An Assignee is a holder of debt, or a person to whom a right or liability is legally transferred, or a person appointed to act for another. Adam Kerr was given the bounty of land, because of Arthur Carey’s courage, in the War for American Independence.
  • Carey, James – James Carey came from the State of New York. James Carey held the rank of Drummer, in the Continental Army. The age of a soldier is supposed to be at least sixteen years of age. The age of a musician is supposed to be at least twelve years of age. These regulations were sometimes ignored. The musical instruments included the drum, fife, bugle and sometimes other instruments. The instruments were used to relay messages to the troops. On the Ninth day of July, in 1790, he received a bounty of six hundred acres of land, from the State of New York.
  • Carey, John – John Carey came from the State of North Carolina. John Carey held the rank of Private, in the Continental Army. On the Seventeenth day of February, in 1824, he received a bounty of six hundred and forty acres of land, from the State of North Carolina.
  • Carey, Owen – Owen Carey came from the State of Maryland. Owen Carey held the rank of Corporal, in the Continental Army. On an unknown date, he received a bounty of fifty acres of land, from the State of Maryland. Owen Carey was given the bounty of land, because of his courage, in the War for American Independence.
  • Carl, John – John Carl came from the Town of Unity, Waldo County, in the State of Maine. Maine was not a state, in its own right, during the American Revolutionary War. Maine became a separate colony in the 1620’s. From the 1650’s until 1820, the State of Maine was part of the State of Massachusetts. The people of Maine finally, gained the right to have their state in 1820. On the Sixth day of July, in 1835, his widow, Lois Carl received a bounty of two hundred acres of land, from the State of Maine.
  • Carle, Israel – Israel Carle came from the County of Middlesex, in the State of New Jersey. Israel Carle held the rank of Private, in the Continental Army. He was a member of a regiment, of the Middlesex County, in the State of New Jersey. Israel Carle was also, a member of captain Robert Nixon’s light Horse Cavalry. The Light Horse Cavalry, such as Hussars, rode small quick horses and carried light weapons, suited, for scouting and skirmishing.
  • Carler, Samuel – Samuel Carler came from the State of North Carolina. Samuel Carler held the rank of Private, in the Continental Army. On the Thirty-first day of August, in 1795, his heirs received a bounty of six hundred and forty acres of land, from the State of North Carolina.
  • Carleton, John – John Carleton came from the State of Pennsylvania. John Carleton held the rank of Private, in the Continental Army. On the Nineteenth day of October, in 1786, he received a bounty of two hundred acres of land, from the State of Pennsylvania. The surname of Carleton can also, be spelled Carlton.
  • Carleton, Patrick – Patrick Carleton came from the State of Georgia. He was a Minuteman. The Minutemen were members of militias, or armies of nonprofessional soldiers, in the American Revolutionary War. They were major contributors to the war and were trained to respond to threats at a moments notice. They provided quick military action, and they created a network to quickly relay information across the colonies, on horseback. On the Seventeenth day of May, in 1784, he received a bounty of an unknown amount of land or British money, from the State of Georgia.
  • Carleton, Timothy – Timothy Carleton came from the State of Massachusetts. Timothy Carleton was a member of General George Washington’s Commander-in-chief’s Guard.
