Eaton, Abiather – Abiather Eaton came from the State of Massachusetts. Eaton, Charles – Charles Eaton was born in 1759, in the Town of Reading, Middlesex County, in the State of Massachusetts. Charles Eaton held the rank of Fifer, in the Continental Army. The age of a soldier, was supposed to be at least sixteen years of age. The age of a Musician was supposed to be at least twelve years of age. These regulations were sometimes ignored. the instruments used were the drum, fife and bugle as well as others. The instruments were used to relay messages to the troops. Charles Eaton served under the command of General George Washington, Colonel Ebenezer Bridge regiment which marched on Lexington. His first turn of service was from the Twenty-fourth day of September, in 1775 to the Twenty-fifth day of September, in 1775. They marched from their camp at Cambridge. Ebenezer Eaton died in 1829.
