Families (Wylie, John 1773)


John Wylie was born in 1753, in the State of South Carolina and baptized in the State of North Carolina, by Reverend Samuel Wylie. He died on the Nineteenth day of November, in 1850, at Washington County, in the State of Illinois. John Wylie was buried at the Old Salem Cemetery, Washington County, in the State of Illinois. He was the son of William Wylie, who was born 1758, at County Antrim, in Ireland and Isabella Kelso, who was born in 1755, at County Antrim, in Ireland.

John Wylie was a American soldier in the War for 1812, from the State of Kentucky.

John Wylie was married to Sarah Leiper, on the Second day, of July, in 1807, at Montgomery County, in the State of Kentucky. She was born in the State of Virginia. They were the parents of:

1.Susan Wylie was born on the Sixteenth day of April, in 1808 in the State of Kentucky and died on the Twenty-eighth day of December, in 1886, at Marissa County, in the State of Illinois. She was buried at the Marissa Cemetery, at Marissa County, in the State of Illinois. She was married to John M. Hemphill, on the Second day of April, in 1840, in the State of Illinois. He was born on the Seventeenth day of February, in 1797, in the State of South Carolina and died on the Second day of April, in 1863, at Marissa County, in the State of Illinois. John M. Hemphill was buried at the Marissa Cemetery, at Marissa County, in the State of Illinois. John Hemphill’s brother James Hemphill was the lawyer, who handled his estate.

2.Isabelle Wylie was born on the Twenty-sixth day of April, in 1810, at Paris, Bourbon County, in the State of Kentucky and died on the Twelfth day of January, in 1890, in the State of Illinois. She was married to Robert Stuart Coulter, on the Fourteenth day of May, in 1829, at Washington County, in the State of Illinois. He was born on the Twentieth day of September, in 1809, at Robertson County, in the State of Tennessee.

3.William Wylie was born in 1814, at Paris, Bourbon County, in the State of Kentucky and died in 1893, at Springfield, Greene County, in the State of Missouri. He was married to Eliza Anne Taylor in 1836, in the State of Illinois. She died on the First day of July, in 1889, in Springfield, Greene County, in the State of Missouri. Eliza Anne Taylor was buried at Hazelwood Cemetery, at Springfield, Greene County, in the State of Missouri.

4.A boy was born in about 1816 and died.
