David A. Lanterman was born on the Twenty-fourth day of December, in 1786, in Pennsylvania and died in 1865, at Madison County, in the State of Illinois. He moved with his family from Pennsylvania to Fleming County, in Kentucky. Then he moved in 1818, to Fort Russell, Madison County, in the State of Illinois. Later, he moved to Moro, Madison County, in the State of Illinois. He was the son of Peter Lanterman, who was born on the Eighth day of January, in 1748, in the State of New Jersey and Aletta Applegate, who was born on the Twenty-second day of August, in 1759.
David A Lanterman was married to Sarah Luman, on the Fifth day of March, in1812, at Fleming County, in the State of Kentucky. She was born in about 1788. They were the parents of:
1.William Applegate Lanterman was born on the Twenty-sixth day of November, in 1815, at Fleming County, in the State of Kentucky and died on the Third day of January, in 1884, at Moro, Madison County, in the State of Illinois. William Applegate Lanterman was a school teacher, a farmer and he was a member of the Union Army, during the Civil War. He was married to Elizabeth Luman, who was born in about 1820, at Lewis County, in the State of Kentucky.
2.Peter Lanterman was born on the Ninth day of December, in 1820 in the State of Kentucky and died on the Twelfth day of August, in 1861.
3.Sarah Anne Lanterman was born in 1826 in the State of Kentucky, and died in 1852. She used the nickname of Sally. Sarah Anne Lanterman married a man by the name of Lynch.
4.George Lanterman was born in the State of Kentucky.
